FRIDAY26th Feb- PEEK A BOO

Welcome ladies and gentlemen to another freakishly funked up Friday with Peek-A-Poo, devoting nothing but the latest and greatest Funk, Indie, Disco, Dance and House music. The Don of Disco; MALFUNKE, has made sure to make the last Friday of February the Best! and has lined up some very funky fresh sounds that guarantees to get you to groove it, move it, shake it cross the dance floor...

SATURDAY 19th APRIL - SOMETHING ELECTRIC presents Max Judo & The Flavours

What an amazing Saturday Night line up we have install for you this week folks, with some tasty treats delighting the hungriest of music lovers.

To begin the night we have The Flavour; a uniquely Australian take on reggae and funk, with the band thriving best on stage, swapping instruments and having the time of their lives offering up a distinct and soulful take on the kind of music their heroes make.

Following we have Four-piece Gold Coast band MAX JUDO, a perfected art of blending traditional didgeridoo and contemporary rock, to produce one of the freshest sounds to come out of Australia in the last decade. Max Judo have been traveling extensively, playing alongside some of the biggest acts in Australia (Xavier Rudd, Marcia Hines and Mental as Anything), though have manage to make it back to perform right here at Never Land Bar, surely making the home visit worth the while! 

To continue the rest of the night, we have the smooth house sounds of Chingy, and the master of all things dutch and bumpy; Brett Sellwood, finishing the end of a perfect evening..




SUNDAY 18th APRIL - Yves Klien Blue

Never Land Bar is honored to introduce the band that needs to no introduction (besides this), YVES KLEIN BLUE! and they will be here performing live on Sunday the 18th of april. Yves Klein Blue are an Australian indie/rock band from Brisbane, having supported a number of local and international acts, including The Fratellis, The Living End, Ben Kweller, You Am I and The Grates, as well as enjoying slots at Big Day Out 2008, SxSW 2008, Pyramid Rock Festival 08 and Splendour in the Grass 2008. Their debut album, Ragged & Ecstatic, has been dubed as a wild, irresistible ride that, in the end, manages to hold a mirror up to your own place in this old world. Very deep stuff for a indie rock band you say? Wait until you hear the pure enjoyment of listening and losing yourself within their songs as they carry you to a new type of bliss...

This funked up friday we have some very special guest behind the decks all night blasting out the tunes; Lets give it up for PURPLE SNEAKER DJS! A bunch of party dudes throwing down boundary-pushing dance-floor bombs, while doing it better than any other indie DJ around! These two guys love to party and currently run the largest and longest running weekly Indie night in Australia. They have taken some time off to show us what partying is all about! This Saturday Night Something Electric presents a band being compared by many to the likes of Powderfinger, The Shins and The Clash; a very addictive indie sound. This is of Course BLACK MARKET RHYTME CO. Since they formed in 2004, Black Market Rhythm Co. have crossed the country numerous time, sold out shows in every mainland capital, played the Big Day Out, closed the Woodford Folk Festival, and become known for bringing smiles to faces and movements to hips around the nation. Ladies and Gentlemen, Never Land Bar is now proud to announce the act for the mystery show this Month... None other than international accliamed, local born OPERATOR PLEASE !!! . Now if you have been living under a rock for the last two years, and have no idea who these guys are, then you need to get your study on, because these guys are amazing! Forming in 2005 to enter the 'battle of the bands' competetion (and winning!), they have since grown into international superstardim, with they first single 'Just a song about Ping Pong' blasting through the charts, even winning them the Break through Artist - Single Catergory at the 2007 ARIAs. This last past year they have been working on an their soon to be released second album 'Gloves', and before heading out on a national tour with Future Music Festival will be performing a full live set right here at Never Land Bar. Get ready for some toe-tapping, electricfied groovin' dance indie tunes produced for your ears only!

Friday - The Don of Disco MALFUNKE

Yes folks you have got it right, another Funked Up Friday is upon us with the man who never stops dancing – MALFUNKE. He is here once again to present PEEK-A-BOO; presenting your favorite indie dance and house beats through-out the night, that I’m sure will keep you movin’ and groovin’ all the way until our little friend ‘the sun’ pops its head into our lives.

SATURDAY - Goons of Doom & T-Rek

This Saturday night brings us a clash of ‘music’ titans, with a mixture that is sure to keep any person from blowing up in boredom. To start this massive line up we have local favorites GOONS OF DOOM rocking out with support from Haldane’s Daughters and The Milkshakes in the first half of the night. This leads us to our next act, with his latest track ‘Out My Bitch’ topping the ARIA Club Charts for two weeks straight now, with no sign of moving! This is of course T-REK! And he will be showcasing his massive club hit as well as the finest in grunge and club music there is, with support from the don of disco himself; Malfunke. With so many acts, there is something for the whole family.


SUNDAY - Phil Jamieson & Pat Davern GRINSPOON Acoustic Set

Countdown is nearly over ladies and gentlemen, with only 6 days left until this very, very… VERY! EXCLUSIVE, FIRST & LAST TIME ONLY PERFORMANCE!! By Grinspoon’s very own Phil Jamieson and band buddy Pat Davern; performing a very intermit acoustic set right here at Neverland. This set will be in the minds of many, with crowd favorites like ‘Chemical Romance’ and ‘Better Off Alone’ sure to grab you by the ears, with no escape from this rare, raw sound that many will never be gracious enough to ever hear, let alone step into a room where the band itself is striped back to its core. This sound is unique and is to be awarded with our presence whenever the opportunity arises, as it only ever comes once…
